Neck and shoulder stiffness is extremely common. When pain or stiffness becomes chronic, it can be difficult for the body to resolve the problem on its own. When muscles become hardened and tense, local circulation may be reduced, which can contribute to the problem persisting.

For these persistent neck and shoulder complaints, we have developed a specialised herbal programme. A personalised herbal formula that we tailor to your individual situation throughout the programme. This is how it works:

1. Book your appointment online

You start with an appointment at our practice. You can easily book your appointment online.

The appointment itself takes place at our practice.

2. Complete the questionnaire

After booking your appointment, you will receive a short questionnaire by email.

We ask about the nature and duration of your symptoms, when the tension gets worse, and which factors may be contributing to your complaints. This allows us to prepare properly for your consultation.

3. Consultation at the practice

During the consultation, we take the time to understand your complaints in detail. We look not only at where you experience pain or tension, but also at the underlying pattern and the factors that may be contributing to it.

Based on the consultation, we create your personalised herbal formula. The formula is therefore not the same for everyone. The composition is tailored to your individual symptoms and can be adjusted throughout the programme.

4. Preparation and delivery

After the consultation, your herbal formula is prepared by a specialised pharmacy.

The herbs are sent directly to your home by post.

The pharmacy will invoice you directly for the herbs. You therefore pay the pharmacy afterwards; these costs do not go through us.

Depending on the composition, the herbs cost approximately €23 for 10 days.

5. Follow-up

After approximately 10 days, we discuss how you are responding to the herbs. We look not only at your pain, but also at changes in tension, stiffness, range of movement and how you feel overall.

A second follow-up takes place after approximately 30 days.

If necessary, we adjust your herbal formula based on your response and how your symptoms develop.

The follow-up consultations take place by phone or online and are included in the price.

Who is this programme for?

This programme is intended for people with long-standing neck and shoulder complaints, particularly when there is:

• persistent tension or muscle hardness
• a stiff neck or shoulders
• recurring pain
• a tense or hardened trapezius muscle
• symptoms that keep returning despite massage, exercises or rest

The programme is designed for chronic complaints, rather than an acute injury or, for example, a frozen shoulder. We have a separate approach for other types of shoulder complaints.

Cost

The consultation and guidance currently cost €24.50 instead of €36.50 as a temporary introductory price.

This includes:

• consultation at the practice
• personalised herbal formula
• follow-up after 10 days
• follow-up after 30 days
• adjustment of the herbal formula if needed

The herbs are charged separately by the pharmacy and cost approximately €23 per 10 days, depending on the composition.
